Transgender

Aiden

Aiden (he/him/his) is a community college student, studying Psychology. He was raised in New Jersey, but resides with his husband and two dogs in Sacramento. He has been socially transitioning for 15 years, and medically for nearly a decade. He started at CSU, Sacramento in the Fall of 2023. 

Alexander 

Alex (hey/they) is a a queer disabled neurodivergent low-income student. He recently graduated from the Los Rios Community College system (2023) with two Associates degrees and he’s transfering to Sac State for their Bachelor’s in Psychology. They write books, build wooden figures and structures, and play video games in what little spare time he has.

Allan

Allan (he/him) is trans, ace and queer. He is a psychology student minoring in interdisciplinary neuroscience and an artist focusing in visual and auditory mediums.

Ashley

Ashley (she/they) is an autistic, speech-impaired, and transfeminine student at American River College. She particularly enjoys animation, video games, and cooking, and is currently working towards her acting certificate.

Brian

Brian (he/they/it) attends community college in Sacramento, California where he is studying cybersecurity. He is a transman and pansexual and he identifies as multiracial (white and south Asian) as well as neurodivergent. Brian likes to play Minecraft with friends, he loves animals, enjoys walks and looking at plants, and being creative.

Cassandra

Cassandra is a non-binary transfemme lesbian staff member and student at SCC. Cass uses they/them and she/her pronouns, with no particular preference for either set. She graduated in 2021 from SCC with an AS in Design and Digital Media and currently works as an Instructional Assistant at the SCC Makerspace. Right now, they’re intending to pursue a transfer degree in Biological studies in hopes of becoming a coroner. In her free time, Cass enjoys writing, crafting for cosplay, and digging into the intricacies of movies, games, and music. 

Dale

Dale (he/they) is a current Sacramento City College student studying Criminal Justice. They are an artist, dancer, and single parent. His favorite way to spend time is reading or with his child. They hope to become a forensic pathologist eventually after perusing a simpler forensic science position. 

Diego

Diego (they/them) was born on September 22, 1991 in Chicago, and is transgender, non-binary, and the middle child of three. They spend their free time crafting or creating art, such as spray painting, airbrushing, drawing, playing music (guitar, bass, piano), playing video games, training Kuk Sool (traditional Korean martial arts), or socializing with friends and family.

Felix

Felix (he/him) lives with his sister and two cats in Sacramento, California. He is a bisexual trans man. He attends American River College in Sacramento. He also loves his cat Leo and watching movies.

Francisco

Francisco (he/they) attends college primarily at American River College in Sacramento, California where he studies Sociology. He loves to listen to music, make playlists, travel, be with his partner and our pets. They aren’t 100% sure what their current career goal is, but they are thinking of becoming a teacher like their mom and grandma.

Gavriel

Gavriel Wong (he/him) is a transgender college student at Sacramento City College studying nutrition. He has plans to transfer to Sacramento State University in the near future, and his career goal is to be a clinical dietitian. In his free time he enjoy playing trumpet, photography, and cooking.

Isabel

Isabel (she/her) identifies as transfeminine and bisexual, and autistic. She’s a second-generation immigrant whose parents are originally from Moldova. Her hobbies include listening to music and playing the violin and the guitar. She also enjoys spending time with friends, reading, watching TV and movies, and she enjoys spending time on the internet, playing video games, spending time with friends, and she enjoys 3D printing. She is a community college student at American River College in Sacramento where she is majoring in commercial music recording.

Juliana

Juliana (she/her) is a bisexual woman who is trans, neurodivergent, and ethnically jewish. She is studying philosophy and psychology at American River college. After transferring to a four-year University, she is hoping to go into a career where she can help people. Some of her favorite things to do include playing the piano, hanging out with friends, watching youtube, and shopping. 

Maco

Maco (he/him) is a year-old disabled, Latino trans man, and is a student at American River College. He is majoring in Political Science, and intends to transfer to UC Davis in the Fall of 2024 with a minor in either philosophy or education with the intention of becoming both a lawyer (either immigration or criminal) and a high school Social Science teacher. When not focusing on his studies, he enjoys reading, playing video games, hanging out with his loved ones, baking, cooking, or dabbling in the occasional arts. Ceramics is his absolute favorite type of art medium, but he also enjoys painting as well as traditional and digital art.

Mico

Mico (he/they) graduated from UC Santa Cruz and is currently attending a community college in Sacramento in order to become a nurse. He is a queer Filipino trans man who is also neurodiverse. When not studying, he enjoys doing things outdoors, including hiking, camping, and going to the beach. He also enjoys going to festivals and concerts and is getting more into cooking.

Phoenix F

Phoenix (he/they) is a trans man who enjoys learning and relaxing in the backyard. He loves nature, and enjoys going on walks on trails when he has time. His major is revolves around his love for nature as well! He hopes to transfer to UC Davis in two and a half years’ time. Although he has a handful of challenges at home (with family members) it has gotten slightly better after years of therapy. Phoenix hopes to eventually become an Environmental lawyer.

Phoenix S.

Phoenix (they/them) is an LGBTQIA+ autistic person who is hard of hearing. They work for the Department of Health Care Services for the State of California as a Staff Services Analyst (General). They take online classes at the Los Rios community college system for fun. They have an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, but they decided to switch paths due to the toxicity in the engineering discipline. They love cats and dogs a lot, even more than people.

Rocky

Rocky (they/he/she) is African-American, White and non-binary. They are also bisexual and demisexual. He is currently a first year at American River College and is studying Psychology in hopes of becoming a teacher someday.

Ryal

Ryal (he/they) identifies broadly as queer. He is a lifelong student with interests in the Social Sciences and Humanities. He loves animals and enjoys camping, video games, reading, and spending time with friends.

Spencer

Spencer (he/him) is a queer trans man. He is open about his transition and he aspires to be a K-12 teacher in public schools. Spencer hopes to be open about his gender identity with his future students and be a positive role model for LGBT+ youth. His favorite pastime is solving jigsaw puzzles.

Soledad

Soledad (She/They/It) is a Mexican-American/Chicana bisexual nonbinary transgender woman. She is a Pre-Health major planning to attend the Vet Tech Program at Cosumnes River College (though she is thinking about changing her major again). They like to read, do makeup, play video games, and crochet as a few of their favorite hobbies.

Xander

Xander (he/him) is a gay trans man. He’s a student at American River College majoring in Sociology and Women’s and Gender studies. Due to his own life experiences and his involvement with the LGBTQ+ community he’s become focused on addressing the needs of LGBTQ+ people, which is why my goal is to go into social work.

Zoë

Zoë (she/her) is from the Philippines, but considers herself a Sacramento native. She has a BA in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley and is currently attending Sac City to pursue medical school. When she’s not working or studying the sciences, she enjoys reading, writing poetry, cooking, watching movies, and other artistic endeavors.
